There are several factors that decide how successful a person can, and will be. Ability, talent, drive, skill, any many other qualities decide whether or not YOU will be wealthy, happy, and content.
But, there is one outstanding quality/ability, that I personally believe to be the one that is held to a higher regard than all of the others.
The quality/ability, to never give up.
95% of the people in this world (Most likely you too) give up on most, if not all, of their big aspirations, dreams, and hopes.
They lack this, way of thinking.
Eminem however, did not.
Eminem grew up moving from house to house, over 10 times in his childhood, with a mother who drank alcohol excessively and was addicted to many drugs. Along with being frequently and excessively bullied at school, having no father, and facing many other adversities.
Despite going through all of these hardships, along with his heart being torn apart by his abusive wife, Eminem prevailed to become one of the wealthiest people on the planet. As well as one of the most famous, and possibly the world’s greatest rapper.
But, how can this be? How can someone go, from having nothing. Living in poverty. Living in constant change, frustration, and without care. How can this type of life, result in one of the largest success stories every?
The overwhelming fact, that Eminem never gave up.
Instead of throwing in the towel, and calling it quits, through every single difficulty in his life. Eminem kept going. And he didn’t just kinda write music, he didn’t kinda want to succeed, and he most certainly didn’t kinda rap. He OBSESSED over becoming the best. He OBSESSED over becoming a complete success. He OBSESSED over music and writing.
Eminem’s dedication, obsession, and drive, made him what he is today.
There’s two VERY important lessons that you can learn from this post.
The first, giving up, or not giving up, will be the crucial to your success in building a business, and anywhere in life.
The second lesson. You can have anything you want in life, as long as you work as hard as you possibly can for it and never quit.
I will leave you with the greatest poem that I have ever read in my life.
If you want a thing bad enough
To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and
your sleep for it
If only desire of it
Makes you quite mad enough
Never to tire of it,
Makes you hold all other things tawdry
and cheap for it
If life seems all empty and useless without it
And all that you scheme and you dream is about it,
If gladly you’ll sweat for it,
Fret for it, Plan for it,
Lose all your terror of God or man for it,
If you’ll simply go after that thing that you want.
With all your capacity,
Strength and sagacity,
Faith, hope and confidence, stern pertinacity,
If neither cold poverty, famished and gaunt,
Nor sickness nor pain
Of body or brain
Can turn you away from the thing that you want,
If dogged and grim you besiege and beset it,
You’ll get it!
